The Richard Howell Quartet

The Richard Howell Quartet @ The White Barn, Feb. 14, 7 p.m.

Tenor saxophonist Richard Howell brings together a number of Bay Area jazz musicians in a combo whose musical style Howell describes as “bridge music” — because it “bridges, unites, and merges the experience of all listeners.” In this followup to his successful autumn show at the Barn, Howell and company will play more standards from the jazz repertoire along with some of Howell’s original compositions.

Kith & Kin

Napa Valley’s own Celtic band, Kith & Kin comes back to the Barn for an eve-of-St. Paddy’s Day celebration. Join musician/vocalists Kathi Brotemarkle, Ron Brunswick, Linda Howard, Ann Gilleran, and Michael Waterson for their sole-pounding night of jigs, reels, ballads, and blarney, accompanied by guitar, fiddle, accordion, mandolin, banjo, Irish bouzouki, and bodhrán. Awaken the Irish in you (real or honorary) with lilting vocals and traditional instrumental tunes.
